PG&E cut power to thousands of Bay Area and Northern California customers on Tuesday night due to high fire risk from strong winds and low humidity. The planned Public Safety Power Shutoffs began at 6:30 p.m., initially affecting Lake and Sonoma counties, then expanded to Napa, Solano, and others by Wednesday morning.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Napa and Solano counties had the largest outages, with over 4,500 customers each without power. In total, more than 22,000 customers statewide were impacted by the shutoffs, with an additional 32,000 affected by weather-related outages.

PG&E opened 29 Community Resource Centers in affected counties to provide support, including hotel, food, and transportation assistance via 211. A Red Flag Warning remained in effect until Thursday morning due to critical fire conditions across the Bay Area and parts of Northern California.
